Campfire Foil Packet Dinner

1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast meat – cubed
2 onions, diced
1 (8 ounce) package sliced fresh mushrooms
1 yellow bell pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
1 red bell pepper, seeded and sliced into strips
4 cloves garlic, sliced
4 small potatoes, cubed
1/4 cup olive oil
1 lemon, juiced

Directions:
1. In a large bowl, or a large zip-top bag, combine the chicken, onion, mushrooms, yellow pepper, red pepper, garlic, and potatoes. Pour in the olive oil and lemon juice, then mix well.
2. Evenly divide the mixture between 4 large sheets of aluminum foil. Top each with another sheet of foil, and roll up the edges tightly. Wrap each packet again, securely in another sheet of foil to double wrap.
3. Cook in the hot coals of a campfire until the chicken is opaque and the potatoes are tender, around 40 minutes.

 A Primitive Diet

A Primitive Diet

$17.99

A Primitive Diet is a book of information and recipes free from gluten, yeast, sugar, dairy products, large amounts of meat and grain, and processed foods that today are a major proportion of the modern “western” diet. These recipes are suitable for people of all ages. Don’t be put off trying them just because you consider yourself healthy … you’ll be surprised at the gourmet delights within. What did Primitive Man eat? He gathered fruits, berries, nuts, greens and roots from the soil. Herbs were his medicine. If he was quick and cunning he caught a small animal, fish or bird, or would have found a bird’s egg.The exciting recipes contained between these covers have been created by Beverley Southam from Primitive Man’s vast outdoor pantry, to solve serious health problems of her family many years ago. There is nothing boring about this fresh, wholesome diet. Savour the the taste of Fresh Tomato Soup, Ceviche (a Mexican dish), Salsas, Marinated Fresh Fruit. Feast on Fish in Banana Leaves, Raw Apple Pie complemented with healthy fresh drinks – Strawberry Crush, Iced Pineapple Tea, Orange and Avocado Smoothie. Try healthy treats from around the world. And … who said to be on a special diet is boring?

Cookbooking: The Delicious New Way to Scrapbook

Cookbooking: The Delicious New Way to Scrapbook

$24.95

Cookbooking was born one recent Thanksgiving when Barbara Winkler decided she’d had enough of digging through old file folders and desk drawers to find her recipes. Winkler, a former executive editor of Family Circle magazine, realized that when she assembled all those recipes, she had made more than a home-made cookbook: she had also created “an album that displays memories of the good times as well as the recipes that helped shape them.” Here, Winkler shows accomplished scrapbookers and newcomers alike how to combine organization and inspiration with 12 design concepts, ranging from family treasures to outdoor grilling. For each, she includes photos of album covers and finished scrapbook pages, along with two recipes. And all the projects look great because they’re crafted by renowned scrapbooker Pattie Donham, author of The Crafter’s Guide to Glue.

Copper and Bronze in Art: Corrosion, Colorants, and Conservation

Copper and Bronze in Art: Corrosion, Colorants, and Conservation

$70

Pigments, corrosion products, and minerals are usually considered separately, either as painting materials or as the deterioration products of metals, even though they are often the same compounds. This 190-year review of the literature on copper and its alloys integrates that information across a broad spectrum of interests that are all too frequently compartmentalized. The author discusses the various environmental conditions to which copper alloy objects may be exposed-including burial, outdoor, and indoor museum environments-and the methods used to conserve them. The book also includes information on ancient and historical technologies, the nature of patina as it pertains to copper and bronze, and the use of copper corrosion materials as pigments. Chapters are organized primarily by chemical corrosion products and include topics such as early technologies, copper chlorides and bronze disease, the chemistry and history of turquoise, Egyptian blue and other synthetic copper silicates, the organic salts of copper in bronze corrosion, and aspects of bronze patinas. A detailed survey of conservation treatments for bronze objects is also provided. Four appendixes cover copper and bronze chemistry, replication experiments for early pigment recipes, a list of copper minerals and corrosion products, and X-ray diffraction studies.
