Series Saga
Do you think the Majin Buu saga was an unnecessary saga to the Dragonball Z series?

I was watching the remastered box set of the Majin Buu saga and I noticed that some parts were kind of emotional which was unlike the other sagas in my opinion. I think the saga was a good saga but, I want your opinions. Could you guys please keep the answers clean of spam comments like “the series is old” or “the anime is lame and move on to other anime”.

Thanks for your cooperation and I will be waiting for good answers.

I think it was necessary to have.

They finally got to show Vegeta accept everyone, and although it wasn’t the greatest, we got to see Goku and Vegeta go all out once again.

We were able to see more of the comedy side between Goku and Vegeta when fighting against Kidd Buu and that Majin Gotenks etc.

We got to see a couple cool fusions, and best of all SSJ3 Goku.

My fav character is Gohan, seeing him go Mystic was really nice, I only hoped that he continued to fight with that Kai uniform rather than that Orange Goku uniform.

I’d have been extremely upset if it stopped at the Cell Saga even though it was a perfect time to end it, but the Buu Saga was just as great.

Only thing that annoyed me about the Buu Saga was Mr. Satan or Hercules.

I grew up wathing DBZ, When i was 11-15 years old, we would run after soccer, basketball, and volleyball practice just to make it to watch the show.

I’ll never get bored of it, it’s one of those memorable things.

 1635: The Tangled Web

1635: The Tangled Web

$3.9

Though the Thirty Years War continues to ravage 17th century Europe, history as it once happened has been strongly deflected by the new force which is rapidly gathering power and influence: the United States of Europe, an alliance between Gustavus Adolphus, King of Sweden, and the West Virginians from the 20th century led by Mike Stearns who were hurled centuries into the past by a mysterious cosmic accident—the Ring of Fire. . The USE has the know-how of 20th century technology, but the American traditions of freedom and justice is having an even stronger impact on Europe, and the rulers of Europe are powerless to stuff the Grantville genie back into the bottle. Virginia DeMarce, a trained historian and co-author of the New York Times best seller, 1635: The Bavarian Crisis, continues the saga of the time-lost Americans as seen through the eyes of both Americans and Europeans, as the Americans try to make sense of the strange world into which they have been hurled, and the Europeans try to understand the abilities and behavior of the visitors from the future. The result is a volume that will be irresistible to the thousands of fans of the Ring of Fire series. Praise for 1634: The Bavarian Crisis by Eric Flint and Virginia DeMarce: “. . . fascinating reading. . . . It is especially refreshing to read an alternate history that doesn’t depend upon the clash of anachronistic arms, but rather on how modern ideas of human rights, education, sanitation and law might have affected the Europe of the 30 Years War.” —Publishers Weekly

1824: The Arkansas War (Trail of Glory Series #2)

1824: The Arkansas War (Trail of Glory Series #2)

$0.99

In the newest volume of this exhilarating series, Eric Flint continues to reshape American history, imagining how a continent and its people might have taken a different path to its future. With 1824: The Arkansas War, he spins an astounding and provocative saga of heroism, battlefield action, racial conflict, and rebellion as a nation recovering from war is plunged into a dangerous era of secession.Buffered by Spanish possessions to the south and by free states and two rivers to the north, Arkansas has become a country of its own: a hybrid confederation of former slaves, Native American Cherokee and Creek clans, and white abolitionists–including one charismatic warrior who has gone from American hero to bête noire. Irish-born Patrick Driscol is building a fortune and a powerful army in the Arkansas Confederacy, inflaming pro-slavers in Washington and terrifying moderates as well. Caught in the middle is President James Monroe, the gentlemanly Virginian entering his final year in office with a demagogic House Speaker, Henry Clay, nipping at his heels and fanning the fires of war. But Driscol, whose black artillerymen smashed both the Louisiana militia in 1820 and the British in New Orleans, remains a magnet for revolution. And fault lines are erupting throughout the young republic–so that every state, every elected official, and every citizen will soon be forced to choose a side. For a country whose lifeblood is infected with the slave trade, the war of 1824 will be a bloody crisis of conscience, politics, economics, and military maneuvering that will draw in players from as far away as England. For such men as Secretary of State John Quincy Adams, Commissioner of Indian Affairs Sam Houston, charismatic war hero Andrew Jackson, and the violent abolitionist John Brown, it is a time to change history itself.Filled with fascinating insights into some of America’s most intriguing historical figures, 1824: The Arkansas War

A Blue and Gray Christmas (Ladies of Covington Series)

A Blue and Gray Christmas (Ladies of Covington Series)

$0.02

In this stunning holiday story, a cache of Civil War-era letters and diaries sweeps the ladies of Covington up into a dramatic and heartwarming historical saga that inspires them to plan an unforgettable Christmas for two families forever changed by war. When a rusty old tin box is unearthed at the Covington Homestead, longtime housemates Grace, Amelia, and Hannah discover that it contains letters and diaries written by two Civil War soldiers, one Union and one Confederate. The friends are captivated by the drama revealed. The soldiers were found dying on a nearby battlefi eld by an old woman. She nursed them back to health, hiding them from bounty hunters seeking deserters. At the end of the war the men chose to stay in Covington, caring for their rescuer as she grew frail. But while their lives were rich, they still felt homesick and guilty for never contacting the families they’d left behind. Christmas is coming, and the letters inspire Amelia with a generous impulse. What if she and her friends were to fi nd the two soldiers’ descendants and invite them to Covington to meet? What better holiday gift could there be than the truth about these two heroic men and their dramatic shared fate? With little time left, the ladies spring into action to track down the men’s families in Connecticut and the Carolinas, and to make preparations in Covington for their most memorable, most historic Christmas yet.

But from his wife Jamie knows that three years hence the shot heard round the world will be fired, and the result will be independence — with those loyal to the King either dead or in exile. “Happy families are all alike,” said Tolstoy, and the O’Malley’s are one of the happiest, if slightly crazy, families in current fiction. A Christmas Wedding continues the saga of Chucky, the youngest son who wants to live the quiet life of an accountant and raise a nice Catholic family. Fate, of course, has other plans for Chucky, in the person of the beautiful Rosemarie, his off-again on-again nemesis from the time he saved her life when he was a young man. Thrown out of Notre Dame on trumped up charges, Chucky ends up going to the University of Chicago. The only problem: his lifelong enemy Rosemarie is a fellow student. They decide to be “just friends,” and while they battle with each other, “just friends” turns into something neither of them expected.

Marcel Allain (1885-1970) was a French writer mostly remembered today for his co-creation with Pierre Souvestre (1874-1914) of the fictional arch-villain and master criminal Fantomas. Allain studied law before becoming a journalist. He then became the assistant of Souvestre, who was already a well-known figure in literary circles. In 1909, the two men published their first novel, Le Rour. Investigating Magistrate Germain Fuselier, later to become a recurring character in the Fantomas series, appears in the novel. Then, in 1911, Allain and Souvestre embarked upon the Fantomas book series at the request of publisher Artheme Fayard, who wanted to create a new monthly pulp magazine. The success was immediate and lasting. After Souvestre’s death in 1914, Allain continued the Fantomas saga alone, then launched several other series, such as Tigris, Fatala, Miss Teria and Ferocias, but none garnered the same popularity as Fantomas. In total, Allain wrote more than 400 novels in his prolific career. His works include: Un Roi Prisonnier de Fantomas (1911), Le Fiacre de Nuit (1911), La Livree du Crime (1912) and Le Jockey Masqué (1913).

A Wilderness So Immense: The Louisiana Purchase and the Destiny of America

$16.95

The remarkable story of the land purchase that doubled the size of our young nation, set the stage for its expansion across the continent, and confronted Americans with new challenges of ethnic and religious diversity. In a saga that stretches from Paris and Madrid to Haiti, Virginia, New York, and New Orleans, Jon Kukla shows how rivalries over the Mississippi River and its vast watershed brought France, Spain, Great Britain, and the United States to the brink of war and shaped the destiny of the new American republic. We encounter American leaders–Jefferson and Jay, Monroe and Pickering among them–clashing over the opening of the West and its implications for sectional balance of power. We see these disagreements nearly derailing the Constitutional Convention of 1787 and spawning a series of separatist conspiracies long before the dispute over slavery in the territory set the stage for the Missouri Compromise and the Civil War. Kukla makes it clear that as the French Revolution and Napoleon’s empire-building rocked the Atlantic community, Spain’s New World empire grew increasingly vulnerable to American and European rivals. Jefferson hoped to take Spain’s territories–piece by piece,–while Napoleon schemed to reestablish a French colonial empire in the Caribbean and North America.Interweaving the stories of ordinary settlers and imperial decision-makers, Kukla depicts a world of revolutionary intrigue that transformed a small and precarious union into a world power–all without bloodshed and for about four cents an acre.Author Biography:

Excerpt: The Nart sagas (Adyghe : , Karachay-Balkar : , Ossetic : æ ; Narty kaddytæ ) are a series of tales originating from the North Caucasus . They form the basic mythology of the tribes in the area, including Ossetian , Circassian , Abkhaz , Abazin , Karachay -Balkar and Chechen -Ingush folklore. The Narts themselves are a race of giants and heroes.Characters Some of the characters who feature prominently in the sagas are:Study and significance The first written account of the material is due to the Kabardian author Shora Begmurzin Nogma (written in Russian 1835-1843, published posthumously in 1861, German translation by Adolf Bergé in 1866). The stories exist in the form of prose tales as well as epic songs. The word “Nart” is probably of Iranian origin, from a Proto-Indo-European root that is the source of words meaning ‘man,’ ‘hero,’ in various Indo-European languages , and all the Nart corpora have an ancient Iranian core, inherited from the Scythians , Sarmatians , and Alans (the Alans being the ancestors of the Ossetians ). However, they also contain abundant local North Caucasian accretions of great antiquity, which sometimes reflect an even more archaic past. Based especially on the Ossetian versions, the sagas have long been valued as a window towards the world of the Iranian -speaking cultures of Antiquity. For example, the philologist Georges Dumézil used the Ossetian division of the Narts into three clans to support his Trifunctional Hypothesis that the Proto-Indo-Europeans were similarly divided into three casteswarriors, priests, and commoners. The Northwest Caucasian (Circassian , Abkhaz -Abasin and Ubykh ) versions are also highly valuable, because they are more archaic and preserve “all the odd details constituting the detritus

In 1985, the Geological Society published Aggregates as the first volume in its Engineering Geology Special Publication series. It met with immediate acclaim, being awarded the Brewis Trophy by SAGA in 1986 and drawing the following review from the Canadian Geotechnical Journal in 1988: This book is in general a well-researched, informative and useful guide to the location, sampling and testing of aggregates. If your work involves the use of aggregates, buy this book and read no further; this volume will be an essential and valuable reference that you will use for many years. In 1989, the working party whose work had resulted in the publication of Aggregates was reconvened to revise, update and extend their report. Each chapter was reviewed by independent referees. The second and greatly improved edition, published in 1993 and reprinted in 1998, represented the distillation of a vast body of knowledge and experience held not only by the members of the working party, but also by many international experts, scientists and engineers who contributed as reviewers, referees and corresponding authors.”…a comprehensive review of all aspects of the aggregate industry…” (Geotechnical Engineer 1995), “…a very well researched and useful guide to the location, sampling and testing of aggregates…” (Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering 1994), “…a well-written and superbly documented text on a very important but previously inadequately covered subject…”(Engineering Geology 1994). Owing to continued demand for this unique reference book, a group of aggregate specialists drawn from the working party was convened in 1999 in order to review and update Aggregates thoroughly forthe third edition.Working Party Members and/or third edition Reviewers: Mr L. Akira is a black and white serial manga or graphic novel by Katsuhiro Otomo. Set in a post-apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo, the work uses conventions of the cyberpunk genre to detail a saga of turmoil. Initially serialised in the pages of Young Magazine from 1982 until 1990, the work was collected in six volumes upon completion by Japanese publisher Kodansha. The work was first published in an English language version by the Marvel Comics imprint Epic Comics, one of the first manga works to be translated in its entirety. Otomo’s art on the series is considered outstanding, and the work is a breakthrough for both Otomo and the manga form. An identically titled anime film adaptation was released in 1988 after releasing 5 comics, shortening the plot, but with its structure and scenes heavily informed by the manga and its serial origins. The manga takes place in a vastly larger timeframe than the film and involves a far wider array of characters and subplots.

Alexander Gillespie Raymond (October 2, 1909 – September 6, 1956) was an American cartoonist, best known for creating Flash Gordon for King Features in 1934. The strip was subsequently adapted into many other media, from a series of movie serials (1936-1940) to a 1970s television series and a 1980 film.Raymond’s father encouraged his love of drawing from an early age, leading him to become an assistant illustrator in the early 1930s on strips such as Tillie the Toiler and Tim Tyler’s Luck. Towards the end of 1933, Raymond created the Flash Gordon science-fiction epic comic strip to compete with the popular Buck Rogers comic strip and, before long, Flash was the more popular strip of the two. Raymond also worked on the jungle adventure saga Jungle Jim and spy adventure Secret Agent X-9 concurrently with Flash, though his increasing workload caused him to leave Secret Agent X-9 to another artist by 1935. He left the strips in 1944 to join the Marines, saw combat in the Pacific Ocean theater in 1945, and was demobilized in 1946. Upon his return from serving during World War II, Raymond created and illustrated the much-heralded Rip Kirby, a private detective comic strip.
