What’s your opinion on president barack obama?
hey…. guys. well i have to do my civics project ( REACTION REPORT) on newspaper article, so i decided to report on president barack obama and project must be opinion not summary so please can you give me your opinion or any website you know and i don’t care how long or how short you give give me your opinion.
thanks in advance,
I think that Obama will have a tough time digging us out of the economic mess that we are in right now. It would not surprise me if he turned out to be a one term president because things are sure to get worse before they get better.
Many people think that Obama is too far to the left. I agree that he is very far to the left, but right now I think we need far-left policies to balance out the far-right policies that we have endured for the past 20 years. I say 20 years because even though Clinton was President for 8 of those years, he put many policies in place that supported big business (credit card companies, mortage companies, stripped away bankruptcy laws, etc).
I think that Obama is charismatic enough that people will be swayed a lot by what he says and how he says it and might not notice some of his failures along the way.
Racially, speaking, many people wonder if African Americans are feeling more hopeful because he will be the first African American President. I think that different generations of blacks have different feelings about that, so I will give you several examples from my family.
My mother is in her mid-80’s. She likes the idea of him being President, but is afraid that “they” might kill him. When I asked her how it would feel to have a black president, she said “Let’s just wait and see what happens.” So part of her can’t even wrap her brain about it yet.
My attitude (I’m mid 50’s) is that African Americans can’t expect too much from him because he has to answer to a whole lot of other people. Not only that, he is only one part of the the Three Branches of power (He is the Executive branch, which does hold a lot of power, but he still has to go through Congress and the Supreme Court). Therefore, he is limited in what he can do. (I think that Bush assumed some power that he really didn’t have under the guise of war power, but that’s another issue). I also think that racism will be as prevalent as it always has been.
My daughters think that having an African American President signals a new awakening in the country. They believe that his election is proof that people don’t look at race so much anymore.
My grandkids (the younger ones) don’t see why his winning the election is such a big deal. He’s cool. He’s smart. So what?
Hope that helps. Good luck with your project.
I

However, due to coordination issues, on May 28, 2009, the Obama Administration announced a change of venue to Pittsburgh in order to highlight the city’s economic recovery following the collapse of its manufacturing sector in the latter half of the 20th century. In response to the Global credit crisis, a G20 summit in one year was proposed shortly after the London summit in April 2009. Amongst the issues discussed was a proposal to radically reform the International Monetary Fund. French President Nicolas Sarkozy also suggested that there would be an evaluation of measures already taken. The primary venue of the summit was the David L. A New World $16.95 The Fool Speaks:The Wise Man ListensA NEW WORLD: IF THE CREEK DON’T RISE questions life in America from the perspective of hyphenated Americans of all races and nationalities. Can true justice, peace and righteousness be found in the midst of a historical past that yielded strange humanistic fruit? Donald D. Warner realistically examines the influences of language dualities, scholarship, immigrant sojourners, local and national heroes, the family unit, education and religious institutions, accompanied by the new rise of hope seen in the President of the United States, Barack Obama, cast in the midst of a new globalization. The author queries, “Where is our hope?” Historically the United States Constitution promises definitive aspects of liberty and justice for all. A Voice In The Midst Of A Storm $6.62 Barack Obama did not just appear on the political arena in Chicago as a formidable and savvy politician, but rather he is a product of fervent, persistent prayers to an impartial God who answered the cries of his people. He was born for this turbulent moment in the history of the United States of America. He is the fulfillment of Dr. Martin Luther King’s Jr. dream…TO TAKE THE NATION TO THE PROMISED LAND.Suzzane Njuguna-Randon was born and grew up in Kenya, East Africa, during the struggle for independence from the British who had colonized her beautiful country before Kenya became independent in 1963. When Suzzane was three years old, the British soldiers ravaged her village, and burned down the little mud huts where her mother lived. But alas! When they saw the little light-skinned toddler lying on the floor near the fire, they stopped and asked her mother “is this baby from us?” Her frightened mother answered yes, but Suzzane was 100% African – God caused the little baby to look ‘half-white’ and as a result, she and her family escaped death by inferno! As the story goes, her mother knew all along that Suzzane was pre-destined from birth to do a great work in her generation. This call was to ultimately take her to America to pray and intercede for what God was planning to do in the U.S.A. and hence the emergence of a young black man in the name of Barack Obama, who was elected the 44th President of United States of America. |

Corsi blows the whistle on a movement to undercut the fundamental principles of limited government that our Founding Fathers fought for and died for trying to establish. While the radical Left promotes socialism and the radical Right champions unbridled free trade, valuable jobs are being outsourced, our national borders erased, and our dollar destroyed before our very eyes. With constructive solutions for resisting the global New Deal,… |

Born in Kansas, Dunham spent her childhood in California, Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas and her teenage years in Mercer Island, Washington, and much of her adult life in Hawaii and Indonesia. Dunham studied at the University of Hawaii and the East-West Center and attained a bachelor’s, master’s, and Ph.D. in anthropology. American Grit: What It Will Take to Survive and Win in the 21st Century $16.95 Tough Times Call for Tough ActionIn American Grit, nationally syndicated columnist Tony Blankley warns that the administration of Barack Obama is a potential disaster at a dangerous time for America.Challenging Americans to recapture the spirit of sacrifice that has historically characterized our nation, Blankley demonstrates how Obama’s agenda, with its emphasis on environmental sensitivity, military retreat, and the diminution of executive branch powers, promotes national weakness as a righteous ideal. In contrast, Blankley puts forward his own nationalist program based on toughness, resoluteness, and grit–traditional American values totally absent from Obama’s agenda. In this passionate, hard-hitting book, Blankley shows:* How Obama’s plan for national service is a weak substitute for what America really needs–a full-on military draft* How Obama’s infatuation with alternative energy will damage America’s national interests* Why we need stricter laws to prevent the media from compromising our national security* Why the office of the presidency, contrary to popular belief, has not gained enough power since the September 11 attacks* How we can craft a successful foreign policy that avoids the mistakesof both the liberals and the neo-cons* How our war effort in Iraq was undermined by effective enemy propaganda–and what we can do about it* Why education reform under President Obama will fail to address one of the biggest problems in our education system: the failure to teach patriotismFilled with solutions to problems ranging from the detention of enemy combatants to dealing with aggressive petro-states like Russia, Venezuela, and Iran,American Grit demonstrates how this country can emerge from its current domestic and military challenges as a stronger, more unified, and more tenacious nation–and why under President Obama, it won’t. |

An American Story: The Speeches of Barack Obama: A Primer $0.99 Barack Obama’s superb and captivating oratory style has earned him comparisons to John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, and this collection of his complete speeches—presented for the first time in their entirety—exposes politicos, voters, and fans of Obama to the words that have catapulted his remarkable rise from underdog to future U.S. president. First capturing America’s attention with his keynote address to the Democratic National Convention in 2004, all of Obama’s key speeches are presented as he discusses themes of race, identity, community, and above all, his hoped-for vision of a new America. Interspersed throughout the collection, political columnist David Olive reveals lesser-known stories and facts about Obama, his career, and the campaign trail, while also exploring the controversies—from his shedding of his American flag lapel pin and the remarks made by Reverend Wright to his anti-war stance, his strong Christian faith, and his often racially charged remarks. This book is truly a primer for readers who want to examine the substance of his thought and reflect on the inspiring words of a gifted orator. |

Bankrolling Evolution $1.99 This is a special edition to put the power of advanced, multinational evolution science behind the American election and presidency of Barack Obama. Documenting the global gains from an American shift from regressive to progressive leadership, Bankrolling Evolution: A Program for a President is a special edition of a report drawing on the work of the multinational General Evolution Research Group prepared for the Darwin Project Council of over 50 leading American, European, and Asian scientists and educators.Part I lays bare what’s gone wrong with a powerful diagnosis of the persisting threat of the pathology of regressive leadership, enablers, followers, and money that financed the multi-billion-dollar rightwing seizure of America.Part II tracks how and why this happened within the context of the historic worldwide rise of hope for the American dream and revolution—in sharp contrast to the drive backward pushed to fearful extremes during the Bush years. Part III explores how recapturing the vision of real power to the people can transcend division, forge a new alliance of thinking and caring Americans, and spread new hope, respect, and trust rather than fear, environmental devastation, and nuclear proliferation globally.Part IV shows how with progressive leadership and a new measure and science of global healing we can prevent the return—otherwise potentially much worse next time—of what like the spread of a deadly illness periodically seizes whole nations to block and drive us backward in evolution. Bankrolling Evolution provides a dramatic look at the different kind of future offered by the power of progressive science, a new investment in moral evolution, and the global prospect for an Obama American presidency.Director of research and author of the report, psychologist and pioneering evolutionary systems scientist David Loye, is the former Research Director for the Program on Psychosocial Adaptation and the Future, Neuropsychiatric |

Barack Obama & Us Foreign Policy $19.41 This study appeals to readers yearning for a comprehensive assessment of the issues that will impact President Barack Obama’s stewardship of U.S. foreign policy. This study commences with an examination of Obama’s foreign policy evolution-tracing early writings, the critical speeches, interviews, performance during presidential debates and during his “honeymoon.” It is at this point the author offers a brief assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of his competence in foreign policy. Thereafter this study explores the opportunities and pitfalls that will govern President Obama’s tenure. The opportunities afforded to Obama include but are not limited to the following: his central objective is to transform the American image around the world; why Obama is determined to end the unilateralist impulse and shift US foreign policy to its historic multilateral traditions. Obama is moving swiftly to place his stamp on U.S. policy in Iraq and Afghanistan; the new president is determined to confront Al Qaeda, examines Obama’s use of personal diplomacy to engage Iran, Cuba, and Syria; explores the president’s objectives to resolve the long-simmering Israeli-Palestinian dispute. Conversely, the study highlights a number of issues that may produce a host of problems for President Obama on the international front. In one scenario Obama’s decision to implement a “phased withdrawal” of U.S. forces from Iraq may unleash a new period of violence and undermine the gains made by the armed forces of the United States and Iraq. Second, evidence will be presented to illustrate why the failure to defeat the Taliban in Afghanistan, along with the inability to contain, if not defeat Islamicextremism in Pakistan, may undermine the war on terror and may dramatically impact Obama’s opportunity for reelection. Significantly, the study demonstrates why the historic Democratic Dilemma will emerge as a critical variable to exemplify why President Obama’s tenure will be replete with |

Barack Obama – on the Shoulders of Ancestors: A Tribute to the First African American President $14 The election of Senator Barack Obama as the first African American President of the United States of America marks the beginning of a new era, in our democracy’s political and social evolution as a nation! Some critics will say that this change may occur more readily in the psyches of individuals, versus real change in the social, political, and economic structure of our country. However, less than forty five years ago, during the Civil Rights struggle, African Americans (including civil rights workers of all races) were on the front lines fighting for everyone’s right to full citizenship in a Democracy that shut some out! So, they marched into Selma, Alabama to protest discrimination. They organized a boycott for 381 days and fought for the right to sit in any seat on a Montgomery public bus. They waged legal battles in the areas of public accommodations and fought the segregated public school system in Topeka, Kansas, and schools systems throughout the nation.Whether this historical moment will represent real change or not, is impossible to measure yet! However, what can be acknowledged is that President Barack Obama and generations of ancestors have worked and sacrificed for this great moment in America’s History! What would ancestors like Frederick Douglass, President Lincoln, Justice Thurgood Marshall, and Dr. Martin L. King Jr., say to the first black President? What issues would they talk about? Could they believe, as Dr. King said in his I Have a Dream Speech that the check once given to its black citizens marked “insufficient funds” was now good, and payable at the bank of America’s promise? |

Barack Obama’s Plan to Socialize America and Destroy Capitalism $1.99 On the campaign trail, Barack Obama promised change-but what kind of change? In this book, you will read about his plans to steer the country sharply to the left and roll out liberal policies across the political landscape. Never before in this history of America have we seen the radical-left so empowered to impose a liberal agenda on the country. In Barack Obama, we have a charismatic leader who has proven he can persuade the public and has shown he is more than capable of making his agenda a reality. President Obama is, without question, a charismatic leader and captivating speaker. Behind the cool veneer and rock star personality is a person with a dangerous agenda, a person who doesn’t believe America is great, and who wants to model our country after the socialist democracies in Europe. Before we can take back the country, Americans must understand both the policies of our President and where they will lead us. |

Barack Obama: The New Face of American Politics (Women and Minorities in Politics Series) $40 Barack Obama’s election to the U.S. Senate in 2004 is one of the most interesting and colorful political campaigns in recent history. His rousing keynote address at the Democratic National Convention that same year made his name a household word. The Obama for Illinois crusade offers important insights into American politics. The authors explore the role of money, political party, ethnicity, religion, and the issues facing our society today. Obama’s straightforward policy recommendations, message of hope and inclusion, and charismatic style propelled him to the national spotlight. Obama has the potential to shape America and to reshape U.S. politics as he campaigns for the White House.Obama’s state senate career and his decision to enter the U.S. Senate race are examined in this book. Despite a primary field of six competitors, Obama received more than half of the Democratic vote, defeating a multimillionaire and the state comptroller, a well-known figure in the Democratic Party. The general election imploded for the Republicans in the first few weeks of the campaign when it was revealed that their candidate was embroiled in a sex scandal. Alan Keyes, the ultraconservative, outspoken African American who had run for president twice and for the U.S. Senate from Maryland, was recruited to challenge Obama. But Obama, whose skill with the media and whose ability to raise funds was evident even in those early days of his career, easily won the race with 70 percent of the vote. The authors analyze Obama’s ability to speak to the concerns of multiple constituencies by appealing to a coalition of voters that transcends race, class, and gender. At the start of his presidential run, Obama gives new meaning to the American dream. |

This is demonstrated in Be Afra Volumes 1 & 2, using numerological analysis and cosmic clock charting. The Cosmic Law operates throughout the universe, seen and unseen. Be Afra discusses the origin of man, the root races with particular emphasis on the fourth root race, the progenitor of the black race; the law of karma, reincarnation, free will and other aspects of the cosmic law. Each root race has a divine purpose and from the beginning was endowed with divine love, wisdom and power to fulfill that purpose. Each had the knowledge of the cosmic law. Be Afra draws on sacred writings, Ifá, Yòrùbá legends and deep analysis of Yòrùbá language to demonstrate that the black race had knowledge of the Everlasting Gospel, the Teaching that should keep mankind free from ignorance or defiance of the Law. Ignorance of that Law is no excuse. We are who we are and where we are, by series of decisions we took, at the Y-junctions of life. Becoming One $15.2 In 1963, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered his “I Have a Dream” speech in hopes of racial unity. Now, nearly forty-five years later, Albert R. Reddick presents his dream come true-his model for overcoming racism-in his book, Becoming One. Diversity has reached the shores, institutions, political parties, and communities of America. Former Senator Barack Obama is the first interracial African-American to be President of the United States of America. In order to maintain unity, America must overcome racism. Racism is divisive. Therefore, it is time for dialogue. African Americans must create the atmosphere for dialogue. After endless years of research, studies, personal experience, and fighting against unlawful discrimination, Dr. Reddick presents his findings and analysis for overcoming racism in Becoming One. |

Best African American Essays 2010 $1.34 Here is the superb second edition of the annual anthology devoted to the best nonfiction writing by African American authors—provocative works from an unprecedented and unforgettable year when truth was stranger (and more inspiring) than fiction. The galvanizing election of Barack Obama was on the minds—and the pages—of authors everywhere. Best African American Essays 2010 features the insights of writers from Juan Williams to Kelefa Sanneh and even Obama himself (his seminal speech on race is included here in its entirety). Ta-Nehisi Coates, in The Nation, proclaims that the president has “redefined blackness for white America,” while Adolph Reed, Jr., in The Progressive, calls him a “vacuous opportunist” and Colson Whitehead, in The New York Times, lightheartedly revels in the election of “someone who looked like me . . . slim.” The First Lady is considered, too, as Lauren Collins, in The New Yorker, assesses the radical quality of Michelle Obama’s very normalcy. But Best African American Essays 2010 goes beyond the Obamas with brilliant pieces from such journals as The Washington Post and The Atlantic, in which Hua Hsu declares the end of white America in “a new cultural mainstream which prizes diversity above all else”; Henry Louis Gates researches his family tree, adding to the “young discipline” that is Africann American history; and Jelani Cobb dares to defend George W. Bush. There are thoughtful and heartfelt tributes to living legends, including Bill Cosby (and an analysis of his famous “pound cake” speech, which promoted black responsibility, empowerment, and self-esteem), and remembrances of those who have passed, including Miriam Makeba, Isaac Hayes, Eartha Kitt, and Michael Jackson.Selected by guest editor Randall Kennedy, a leading intellectual and legal scholar, the wide-ranging pieces in Best African American Essays 2010 comprise a thrilling collection that anyone who wishes to |

Black Men Stop! $6.95 If white men were doing to blacks what black men are doing to blacks today, there would be mayhem, destruction, civil unrest, and marches on Washington much like those seen decades ago, maybe worse. In our culture, we just give black men a pass. In Black Men Stop! Gail Smallwood does not shy away from presenting this phenomenon that continues to cycle in her culture. She wants to make it a part of the social and political conversations in America . Though she discusses the grave error many women make in planning their children’s lives so recklessly through their bad choices for mates, she puts much of the blame for black poverty, crime, the death threat of sexually related disease and the careless way we rear our children on the shoulders of black men, and a dangerous tendency to enable this in our culture. President Barack Obama is an example of this country’s possibilities—a black man, with poor beginnings, a missing father and a single mother, coming to the world stage to challenge the status quo. But neither Obama nor any other politician can help a culture determining and enabling its own genocide. |

Black-White interracial parenting in the Midwest: Naturalistic inquiry into race-related experiences, race identity choices, and education realities. $49.99 On November 4, 2008, the United States of America elected the first biracial president, Barack Hussein Obama, a Black man of Black and White heritage. President Obama’s self-claimed identity reinforced this image. Many of the laws and ways of classifying people changed since President Obama’s generation and with these changes arose a growing population of people with one White parent and one Black parent. This group claimed neither a Black nor White identity, but rather a biracial identity. "Biracial is not currently a recognized racial category within the American cultural landscape" (Rockquemore & Brunsma, 2002, p. 336). According to Root (1996), "The US Census (1992) reported that while the number of monoracial white babies was 15%, the number of Black/White biracial babies has grown almost 500%" (p. xv). For the first time in history, the number of biracial babies is increasing at a faster rate than the number of monoracial babies (p. xiv). Root (1996) referred to this phenomenon as the biracial baby boom (Root, 1996, p. xv). This qualitative naturalistic inquiry study described the experiences of six interracial couples raising biracial children. The interracial couples consisted of Black men married to White women. The source of information for this study came from individual audio-recorded face-to-face interviews from the 12 participants. The interviews were transcribed, verified by the participants, and analyzed by the researcher and a peer debriefer for themes. Themes of the six interracial couple’s experiences emerged. The overall consensus of the respondents was that society has not changed significantly during the past 10 years. The participants are still experiencing discrimination, racism, negative classification, social rejection, marginalization, negative stereotypes, exclusion, and ignorance from the members and practices of society. Most of the participants’ experienced their children being excluded, marginalized, and forgotten |

The book has been criticized for containing factual errors, as being racially charged, and as being a political “attack book” containing smears, falsehoods, and innuendo. FactCheck described the book as “a mishmash of unsupported conjecture, half-truths, logical fallacies and outright falsehoods.” FactCheck’s review also stated that, “A comprehensive review of all the false claims in Corsi’s book would itself be a book.” Corsi said his purpose in writing the book was to “defeat” Obama in the 2008 United States |

Bought and Paid For: The Unholy Alliance Between Barack Obama and Wall Street $11.53 A top reporter exposes the deep ties between the Obama administration and the big banks that are bankrupting our country. As the recession continues, President Obama has chastised the “fat cats” who feast off government bailout money while unemployment remains high and smaller businesses struggle. But according to Gasparino, Obama is faking his outrage, and his calls for new policies to rein in banks that are “too big to fail” are just pabulum. In reality, Obama has climbed into bed with Wall Street CEOs, giving them what they want so they will support his liberal, big-government agenda. As a result, the big banks responsible for the credit crisis get rescued, while small businesses and ordinary Americans get crushed by higher taxes and irresponsible spending. Gasparino draws on interviews with dozens of key CEOs and political players to trace the roots of Wall Street’s twisted love affair with one of the most liberal presidents in American history. He shows how, for decades, big banks and big business have colluded with big government, thereby laying the groundwork for today’s shady dealings, and how the same bankers Obama now publically reprimands have supported him-not because he promises change, but because he promises business. Written in Gasparino’s characteristic smart yet no-nonsense style, this book is both an exposé and a wake-up call to all Americans to strike back against the people and policies that are ruining our country. |

Campaign Journal 2008: A Chronicle of Vision, Hope, and Glory $2.84 In this distinctive and personal narrative of Barack Obama's 2008 campaign for the American presidency, Carlos Rangel chronicles the underlying currents of social change that led to this successful campaign. The results were a president with a clear majority of the votes cast; elected by a commanding majority of electoral votes; and who won states on both coasts, in the South, the Rust Belt, and the West. There were no recount battles, or intervention by the courts.Rangel notes that the effective professional politician gathers coalitions around positions on the issues and uses these coalitions to formulate policies that bring these positions to fruition. The Obama Campaign coalesced expectations that he would be able to rapidly transform the way the country is led and lead Americans to a better future. These expectations were multiplied by an effective, well-run campaign. Certainly, Obama's capacity to inspire during the campaign led many to believe he could do the same as president.Management of high expectations became one of President Obama's greatest challenges in the immediate period after the election. In transforming ideals of hope and change into reality, he faced political resistance from multiple fronts, an economy with structural flaws, and an internationally isolated United States. Rangel's unique background in Latin America enables him to make sharp observations about policies and campaign statements that may have influence in that region, including trade deals, drug wars and the populist rhetoric, and actions emanating from the region. This book is a solid start at analysis of the years ahead, as well as the year that was.Carlos J. Rangel has an MBA from a joint degree program between Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (Caracas) and University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) as well as a Certificate on Strategic Management from UCLA. He is also a graduate of Pratt Institute in New York City. Before |

Excerpt: Dover Air Force Base or Dover AFB (IATA: DOV, ICAO: KDOV, FAA LID: DOV) is a United States Air Force base located two miles southeast of the city of Dover, Delaware. Dover AFB is home to the 436th Airlift Wing (436 AW) of the Air Mobility Command (AMC), known as the “Eagle Wing”, and the AMC-gained 512th Airlift Wing (512 AW) of the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC), referred to as the “Liberty Wing”. It was the only base to solely operate the massive C-5 Galaxy, with two active flying squadrons (the 3rd Airlift Squadron, which now operates the C-17 Globemaster III, and 9th Airlift Squadron) and two Air Force Reserve flying squadrons (the 326th Airlift Squadron and the 709th Airlift Squadron). Dover AFB is also the home for the largest military mortuary in the Department of Defense, and has been used for processing military personnel killed in both war and peacetime. The Charles C. Carson Center for Mortuary Affairs was used in 1978 for the victims of the Jonestown mass murder/suicide, 1986 for identifying the remains of the crew of the Space Shuttle Challenger, and in 2003 for the crew of the Space Shuttle Columbia. It was also a major site for identifying the remains of military personnel killed in the 9/11 attacks. It is also home to the Air Mobility Command Museum. During the night of October 28, 2009, before making a decision on the committal of further troops to Afghanistan, President Barack Obama visited the base to receive the bodies of several American soldiers killed in Afghanistan. Two sections of the 436th Aerial Port Squadron warehouse collapsed on February 18, 2003, as a result of a record snow storm. Chronology of Recent Health Care Legislation $9.99 Shortly after his inauguration in 2009, President Barack Obama put in motion an attempt to reform the health system in the United States. Health care cost too much and didn’t provide equal access to the system. Reform had been attempted by previous administrations but failed for a variety of reasons. However, President Obama gave health care reform priority, and the attempt succeeded after a year-long struggle that included serious debates about funding, government health insurance, and abortion. Bipartisanship failed. A chronological description of this struggle is important because we may soon launch attempts at reform in other areas (education, environment, monetary funds, immigration, etc.) and lessons learned, particularly with respect to bipartisanship, during the health care reform debate may by useful to other areas. |
